Blog of My Walking
My company has started a campaign to mobilize its employees to become healthier and more active <-- they can get more work outta ya if you're alive :) I accepted the challenge and commenced my walks or walkings on Monday, October 23, 2006. Two days into my walks, I decided to take along my trusty digital camera to take pictures of notable sites along the way. Contained herein are the results of this effort. Comments are welcomed! Above: What's left of an amazing mural of Frederick Douglass as rendered by DC artist/muralist G. Byron Peck. When I was in college in the late 90's, majoring in television production, I did a short documentary on Byron Peck and his art. One of the featured pieces of the production was the Frederick Douglass mural. I was saddened to see that this is all that's left of the mural. You can see the mural in its entirety at here.
